- After failing to meet the expectations of others due to being Goro's son, Daigo gives up on baseball and ends up developing an inferiority complex.
- In the present, Kaoru presents the Dolphins' team with a silver minivan.
- It is revealed that Tashiro and Fuji are the current coaches of the Mifune Dolphins team.
- Hikaru Sato transfers to Daigo's school, since Toshiya came to Japan with his family.
- Izumi breaks Daigo's handheld videogame accidentally.
- The Dolphins are short on three players for a practice match, and Tashiro asks Kaoru to bring Daigo as a substitute player.
- Kaoru convinces Daigo to play in the practice match by offering to buy him a new videogame.

Trivia[]
The volumes of the second series are considerably smaller than the ones in the first series, that had around 192 pages. The second series volumes all have around 168. This is due to the first few volumes of the second series having less chapters per issue. Going forward however, the chapters also start getting smaller.
